This session will be live-translated from Danish to English by Wordly.
Every day, editorial teams, producers and journalists make decisions about which stories to tell, which experts to consult, and which perspectives to represent. But who actually gets a voice – and who doesn't?
This session examines why the film and TV industry continues to struggle to create a media landscape that reflects the society we live in. At the same time, it focuses on the experiences and initiatives that have actually brought about change.
The session also introduces the industry collaboration ALLE TIL ORDE (Everyone Gets a Voice), where the film and TV industry's largest organisations have come together for the first time across competitive interests and silos, with the ambition of creating a more representative media landscape.
WIFT chair Laura Allen Müller paints a current picture of representation in Denmark, after which representatives from TV 2 and DR share experiences, challenges and insights from their work to create greater diversity. Social scientist Johannes Andersen challenges the audience to reflect on their own choices of sources, experts and stories. Who gets heard? Who gets left out? And do your sources look like you?
This session has been organised by WIFT.
