Very few cameras are granted access to the inner circle of power. Even fewer while history is still unfolding and changing course. But Guldbrandsen has that access — again! In this session, he takes us through the process while the film is still in development.
In January 2025, Christoffer Guldbrandsen is in Greenland to make a portrait of Jens-Frederik Nielsen. During filming, the situation changes dramatically as Donald Trump intensifies the geopolitical pressure on both Greenland and Denmark. The film evolves from a portrait into something far greater, and Guldbrandsen suddenly finds himself in the midst of one of the most serious foreign policy crises in recent Danish history.
But where do you point the camera when history is unfolding right before your eyes? What is the most crucial element? And how do you gain access to politicians in a situation where every day has the potential to upend everything?
We're joining the work-in-process as Guldbrandsen shows never before seen footage and offers a rare glimpse into what it takes to document a story while it’s still taking shape — and into the decisions that determine which story the world ultimately gets to hear.
