Signe Lilja is one of Denmark’s leading and most sought-after experts on Korean pop culture and the global phenomenon of Hallyu — the Korean Wave. She gives lectures across the country at libraries, festivals, cultural centers, and companies on topics ranging from K-pop and fandom to Korean TV series, trends, and cultural exports.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in film and media studies and a master’s degree in modern cultural studies from the University of Copenhagen, specializing in Korean fan and popular culture.

In 2019, Signe moved to Seoul to study at Yonsei University and experience Korean culture up close. There, she further developed her insight into the mechanisms, strategies, and creative approaches that have made South Korea a global cultural powerhouse.

Today, Signe Lilja is frequently featured as an expert commentator in Danish media to provide perspective on K-pop, Korean TV series, fandoms, and new cultural trends from Asia. She is known for making complex trends come alive, entertaining, and easy to understand.
