Adam Gillham started in the film industry as a camera assistant with the aerial cameraman Peter Allwork. Preferring to stay on the ground he worked up through the camera department from assistant to focus puller to camera and steadicam operator on projects such as Fortitude, Any Human Heart and Luther. His first job as a director of photography came on Downton Abbey.
His film school training was in the form of short films on super 8mm and 16mm film that he made at school and university. Most recently projects have been a film about the Iraq war, “Danny Boy”, directed by Sam Miller, and a sci-fi series for CBS “The Man Who Fell To Earth”, directed by Alex Kurtzman and Olatunde Osunsamni. He lives in London with his wife Ruta. When not filming he can be found helping out in his shop in London.
