Milad Alami (b. 1982) is a writer/director born in Teheran, Iran and living in Copenhagen, Denmark.

His films have been selected to amongst others Directors Fortnight in Cannes, his first feature “The Charmer” competed in San Sebastian and have won several prizes including Fedeora Award at San Sebastian, Silver Hugo Prize at Chicago, NDR Film Prize at Lübeck, Best Film at Warsaw and Best Film at Palm Springs Film Festival. It was the New York Times critics pick when it was released.

His second feature “Opponent” premiered at the Berlinale in 2023 and has been selected to over 30 film festivals amongst others Karlovy Vary Film Festival. It has won 10 awards and is the official entry from Sweden to the Academy Awards. “Bullshit”, a Limited TV- series was released in 2024 to critical acclaim.

He is working on his next feature film, planned to go in production 2025.
