Piv Bernth is behind some of the biggest Danish TV series successes in the past 20 years. She has worked as a producer at DR since 1998 and has, among other things, produced the Emmy-winner 'Nikolaj and Julie' and the internationally acclaimed 'The Killing', seasons I-III. Additionally, Piv was Executive Producer of 'The Bridge', seasons I-IV, and '1864'.

In 2012, Piv was appointed Head of Drama at DR Drama and commissioned 'Borgen', 'The Legacy', 'Follow The Money', 'Ride Upon The Storm', and 'Liberty'.

Together with Lars Hermann, she founded Apple Tree Productions in 2017 – and the company is now part of ITVS in the UK. The company has produced 'Equinox' and 'Skruk' (Baby Fever) for Netflix, 'Händelser vid Vatten' (Blackwater) for SVT Drama, 'Dansegarderoben' (The Dancer) for TV 2, and 'En af Drengene' (One of the Boys) for Viaplay.

Piv has received numerous awards for her many productions both internationally and nationally, including an international Emmy for 'Nikolaj and Julie' in 2003, The Golden Nymph in Monte Carlo as producer of 'Forbrydelsen II' in 2010, a BAFTA for 'Forbrydelsen I' in 2011, three Emmy nominations for 'Forbrydelsen I' and II. 'Händelser vid Vatten' received Best International Drama Series at Series Mania 2023, Best Mini-Series at Prix Europa, and Kristallen in Stockholm as Drama Series of the Year.
