Marina Ovsyannikova, born on June 19, 1978, in Odesa, Soviet Union, is a political refugee, activist, and journalist.
She began her career as a journalist and news presenter at VGTRK Vesti-Kuban, a regional television station in the Krasnodar Territory, from 1999 to 2002. Marina then joined Channel One Information Programs Directorate in Moscow, where she served as an editor and international producer from 2003 to 2021.
In the period from April to July 2022, Marina worked as a freelance correspondent for Die Welt, contributing her journalistic expertise.
Marina's educational background includes a journalism degree from Kuban State University, which she completed from 1998 to 2002. She further pursued information policy management at The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration from 2002 to 2005.
