Lars Søndergaard has been in the television industry for more than 25 years. He worked as a assistent director throughout the 2000s and, in addition to a large volume of sports and news for TV 2, he also helped direct various award shows such as DMA (Danish Music Awards) and P3 Guld, as well as music/concerts in general and Friday and Saturday night entertainment formats.
Since the late 2000s, Lars has worked as a direktor, handling the various broadcasting rights for TV 2 Sport — including national football team matches at Parken Stadium and both the men’s and women’s national handball teams. He has served as the host director for numerous sporting events, including the European Handball Championship, European Swimming Championships at Royal Arena and Boxen, UCI Track Cycling World Championships, UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships, UEFA football matches, and Denmark Open in badminton.
Lars has also been the director of Royal Run since its first event in 2018. He has served as lead director at TV 2 for the most recent Danish general election, municipal elections, European Parliament elections, the last two U.S. elections — and during the coronation of King Frederik X.
