Rikke Louise Schjødt is an award winning writer and director based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Having grown up partly in Norway, and spent many years in the US, Rikke’s interest in storytelling often circles around the fundamental questions of what it means to be human. She is deeply interested in exploring what events and choices that define us as characters.
In 2020 the first season of her hit TV-show LIMBOLAND premiered on the Danish TV channel Xee/Yousee sparking top reviews. Produced by Drive Studios, the show which is created by Rikke and which she wrote and directed all episodes of is a tragicomic drama show about three women in their mid 20’s struggling to create each their own unique identity and how far they are willing to go in order to protect this narrative instead of admitting defeat.
Currently in it’s second season the show went on to win the “TV-Prisen” for best short tv show in 2021, and was further nominated for a Zulu Award for best tv show.Rikke holds an MFA in Filmmaking from the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts from 2018, where she received the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Fellowship Grant, the Steven J Ross Fellowship, the TSOA Fellowship and scholarship as well as being a Wasserman Finalist (2017) and a Roger King Finishing Award Finalist (2018). Currently Rikke is in development of her first feature film produced by Meta Film and to be shot in the summer 2022.
