Peter Albrechtsen (b. 1976) is an award winning Danish sound designer and music supervisor based in Copenhagen, working on both Danish and international feature films and documentaries. His recent credits include the Oscar nominated The Cave, Christina Rosendahl's feature film Vores mand i Amerika/The Good Traitor, which is now playing in Danish cinemas, and sound effects recording for Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk.
This year, Peter had films competing at both Sundance Film Festival, the Berlin Film Festival and South by Southwest. Has been nominated for the Robert for Best Sound Design six times and won both a Robert and a Bodil for his work on The Idealist in 2016 and on top of this, he has been nominated six times for one of the most prestigious US awards for film sound, the MPSE Golden Reel Award.
Peter has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2017 and this year also became a member of the Emmy TV Academy. Along with his sound work, Peter Albrechtsen has worked as a music supervisor and has collaborated closely with globally acclaimed musicians such as Antony and the Johnsons, Jóhann Jóhannsson and Efterklang. Peter has also written about music and movies for different Danish and international magazines and has been lecturing about sound design around the world.
